June 5, 2011 Steel Match
Probably the best weather we have had for shooting this year greeted the large group of shooters who gathered to meet the challenge of the cold steel. The ladies were well represented this month, we hope they enjoyed themselves and we see them again. I did the best I could with the names on the score sheets but because you know who you are doesn't mean we all do. The scores were recorded carefully and for a change were easy to read. Some of the scores were very close, in one case a hundreth of a second separated two shooters after eight stages. Doesn't get closer than that. Congrats to the class winners and you can be sure we will be gunning for you next month. Thanks to Stan Doroski and Pete Wozniuk for putting the match toghether and me for scoring it.

April 3, 2011 Steel Match
Pretty Day. Good turnout and about as much shooting as a normal person could want. Thanks for the help putting stuff away. Stanley will challenge us again in June. Several new shooters today. I hope they enjoyed themselves and we see them again.

Great match, fast and furious. Weather held. Thanks for supporting our Steel Matches . Congratulations to all the winners, the fastest time was set by Stanley Doroski with an Open .22. He also happens to run the matches. See you Aug. 1st when we do it again.

| May 9, 2010 Shotgun Steel Match Results |
Thanks to all the shooters who showed up on Mothers Day. Lot of new faces, I hope you all enjoyed yourselves and we see you again. Thanks to Tony Bykov, Sam Wyszomierski, Mike Linsalata and Matt McMahon for helping me set up and to all those who hung around after the match to put things away. Nice day except for the wind but we got through it.

STEEL MATCH, 3/7/2010
Great day of shooting, great turnout and a great effort by Stan Doroski, in his first Steel Match as the Steel Master. Stan had the fastest time of the day with his Open .22, Bill Lester led the Open Auto, Wilbert Spruell won with his Stock Auto, Stock .22 was taken by Frank Bickley, and Mike DeSena vaquished the Revolver shooters. We hope you all had a good time. The results were ready the night of the match but my computer crashed and I didn't get it back until today.

Oct. 4, 2009 Steel Match
We had a beautiful day and six stages of static steel. Wilbert Spruell Jr., the Czar of Steel, out did himself. Thanks to all who came and special thanks to those who stayed a few minutes to help put things away. Congratulations to the class winners, Joe Procopio in Open Auto, Bob Novak in Stock Auto, Karl Buchenhain with the .22 Limited and to Stan Doroski who put in the best time of the day with an Open .22. These matches are won by the shooter who takes the least amount of time to hit all the targets on a stage. You shot the stage five times. Your slowest time is thrown out and the remaining four runs are totaled for your stage score. The stage scores are totaled together for your match total. The next Steel Match is in Dec. and the Czar tells me his last effort before he retires will be another man on man classic on the plate racks.

June 1, 2008 Steel Match
Wilbert Spruell, the Czar of Steel, really tested us today, on what had to be the most beautiful day so far this year. Thanks to all of you that came to shoot and particularly to those who stayed to help clean up. It was all appreciated. A good day of shooting and cleaned up and gone by 12:30, not bad.

October Steel, The Match That Almost Wasn't
There was a lot going on this week in the local shooting community. Matches at Freeport and West Point contributed to the relatively low turnout at the Oct. Steel Match. Thank you, to Joe Procopio, Clay Erkmann and the others responsible for putting on this match at a moments notice. Another thanks to Joe for getting the results out so quickly.

Shotgun Steel Match Results
4/22/2007
What a magnificent day. I can only hope that this will be the beginning of a great shooting season. Thank you all for coming and particularly to all the people that came and helped. There were about a hundred pieces of steel that had to be set up and taken down. If you enjoy this type of match the best way to keep them going is to pitch in and help. It is a lot of work for three or four guys. While on this subject, special mention must be made of Barry Urbanick, who came early, had most of the match set up before I got there and wasn’t able to stay and shoot the match. Thanks Barry. After reviewing the results, in the future missed birds will be reduced to the loss of five points.
Congratulation to all the class winners and to Manny Camean on his H.O.A. This will be the last match I score that I lose. You have been warned. Frank
